CHUBFROST
Chub- because she's a dark brown tabby with white paws. -frost because of her cold, almost cruel personality.
CreekClan | Deputy |
28 Moons | She-cat | Mutt |
Greenleaf | Heterosexual |
DESCRIPTION
Chubfrost is often tiptoed around because she is a scruffy she-cat, who is both ugly and decent at the same time. A brown marbled tabby, she is splashed with white on her chest and on her legs. Scars cris-cross through her pelt, making it thin and ragged-looking. The reason she's considered ugly, though, is because she only has one eye. The left side of her face is torn by the claws of a cat. The eyesocket is empty and hollow, the skin bare and scarred. Scratches leave nicks in her lip, and leave their deep gouge marks on the bridge of her nose. Her one good eye is light amber-green.
Chubfrost doesn't pay any attention to the staring she gets, but she is sensitive to being approached from her blindside. She will tear your shoulder open to the clean, white bone if you make that mistake, and it doesn't matter if you're a clan mate or not.
Other than that, she is a long-legged and graceful thing, with muscles that ripple through her shoulders when she walks, exuding power and solid breeding. Chubfrost is the example for how how a mated pair can be an asset to the clan- her parents were chosen to court each other and they produced many litters. all of them were respectable CreekClan warriors in their own right, but not one of them had quite the outcome of genetics that Chubfrost has.

PERSONALITY
- Jealous;; The whole reason why Chubfrost lost her eye in the first place was because of this trait. Her mate was flirting with some other she-cat and the two got into a huge fight over it. The other queen didn't survive the penultimate battle, even if she took some of Chubfrost with her. Chubfrost is possessive and jealous of everything and everyone. It sprouts from her insecurities over her looks. She tries not to show it, and 99% of the time, she succeeds, but her scars maimed her in more than just a physical way. She was so pretty beforehand, and now she fears that each day will take her love away from her. So yes, she gets mad if she catches him even looking at another she-cat. This leads to a lot of fights between them.
- Cold;; Chubfrost is pretty apathetic. it's not that she doesn't care, she just doesn't see a reason to panic over things that are obviously stupid things. She can seem like a bitch because of this- she's unsympathetic to other cat's pains, and could stand to learn something about compassion. For now, her icy exterior is what most people are met with when they ask for days off of patrols. She will often flatly ignore a cry for help, even if it is from a kit. Her attitude has earned her the nickname
Bitchfrost. - Mistrusting;; Self explanatory, but Chubfrost is a very suspicious cat. it's difficult to earn her trust, you almost have to jump through hoops to get her mildly interested in you. She doesn't hand out her friendship without meaning, and a word of praise from her is almost as rare as a blue moon! She's been attacked by some of her own clan mates before, so she's learned to be suspicious of her own denmates.
- Bossy;; This she-cat knows her place well. She's a deputy. She'll be leader one day. If she wasn't able to take charge of a situation, she wouldn't have the respect she does. She wouldn't deserve her rank. She can take it a bit far sometimes and be too bossy, though. She doesn't let that stop her from doing it.
- Secretive;; Chubfrost is all about keeping secrets. It's something she's good at, and known for. You can confide in her about almost anything and she will take it with her to the grave. This can be a good thing because the other side of this trait is that she's reliable, but at the same time, what you need to focus on is that Chubby almost always has a hidden agenda, and she's very good at keeping that agenda exactly where it needs to be- hidden.
Negative
Positive
- Blunt;; Honesty is a good policy to have, but this little molly takes it one or two steps too far. She's blunt, tactlessly so, and this can be split both ways, actually. On the one hand, she won't hide the truth about what she thinks or feels, so if she has an opinion about you, you'll probably be the first to find out, since she's not into keeping her opinions a secret. On the other hand, her opinions are often prickly, and they aren't always given with good intentions. The important thing to remember is that she's into keeping her stories straight, even if she's lying, and won't sugar-coat anything in the interest of being as informative as she can.
- Meaningful;; Chubby doesn't do ANYTHING without meaning. Period. If she doesn't see a point to it, she won't do it. Sometimes this can make her seem lazy, but on the other hand, it makes her actions all the more deliberate and worthwhile. What's rare is when this trait causes her to do something nice for someone else.
- Skeptic;; This femme doesn't believe everything she hears right away. This can be a good thing. It means she's not easy to take advantage of, nor is she gullible. She's not going to fall for any hare-brained schemes. This makes her kind of skeptical of BoneClan as well. She wouldn't dare question them out loud for fear of having her clan ostracize her, but she really doesn't see how life could be worth living under the bloody rule of her dark ancestors. If she were given an alternative, she would probably jump on it.
- Trustworthy;; No matter what she may be secretly planning, or what she says to upset you, this molly is a cat you can actively depend on, because she would rather die than let her clan down.
HISTORY
||Before Birth||
Chubkit's parents were your everyday average CreekClan Warriors. Until they were paired together as mates, Gorsenose and Firefang didn't really pay much attention to each other. Their pairing took everyone by surprise, although it was sensible when thought about- he was exceptional at everything, and she was an intelligent young tracker. They would produce many kits of different skills and talents and they would bless the Clan with their strength.
What the clan didn't know was that Gorsenose had a secret. She was seeing someone else, a loner, who made his home in the deep woods. And when she became close enough friends with Firefang to confide in him that she was already pregnant, he was... well, he was hurt. By that time he had grown to genuinely care for her, but he promised that he would act as a father to these kits, for he did not want her to be sacrificed to the alligator.
For a time it worked, and she had many litters with the loner and Firefang staged as their father each time. Sometimes he would get lucky and share some of his own genetics with her so that some of the kits came out looking like him. Gorsenose knew it was necessary to alleviate suspicions, but... still, it was weird mating with the tom who had become her best friend.
||Kithood||
Eventually, though... they had one last litter and the secret began to unravel when Chubkit was born- the little kit looked nothing like her mother, nor her alleged father, or any other cat who had ever lived in CreekClan. Cats would make jabs at chubkit, their barbed comments pointed at Firefang, riling his fur. They said the most horrible things of Gorsenose as well, calling her a harlot and a traitor. It was clear that the clan wanted both Chubkit and Gorsenose to be sacrificed- Gorsenose for clearly cheating on her mate, and Chubkit for breaking the Code simply by existing.
However, when the leader made his final decision, Chubkit was spared. The kitten was strong, and healthy, and had a life to live. Despite her illegal birth, Chubkit was allowed to grow and to contribute to the clan. Gorsenose was sacrificed. Thankfully by the time this was decided, Chubkit was old enough to be weaned off milk, so she was able to grow up and make the change to eating fresh-kill pretty easily. The only problem was that with the death of Gorsenose, no one else really cared for her, none of the kits wanted to play with her and when she got close to one of the other queens, they would hiss and bat her out of the nursery with their paws. The only one who really stuck up for her was Otterkit, an older tom kit whom she liked to play with because he was very nice to her all the time, this emotion of closeness amplified when she had no one else to play with.
However, she felt bitter loneliness when he became an apprentice and left her alone in the nursery by herself for a few moons.
||Apprenticeship||
Chubpath was a bright young cat, despite the way she was treated. She just had to work twice as hard as every other cat to prove she was loyal and worthy. She was pitted against her clan mates time and again, until she began to suspect that her clan mates were actually disappointed that she wasn't killed each time. Still, their attempts to get rid of her faded off as the clan got bored of her and her birth became old news.
What blossomed out of it, though, was a crush. Again, the only cat who truly stood up for her was Otterpath. He shared his meals with her and allowed her to make a nest beside him in the den when none of the other apprentices wanted her to sleep anywhere near them. He was her only friend, and that friendship grew a little more each day until she began to feel actual affection for him. She knew it was dangerous- Otterpath was a powerful cat with a drive for power and an ambition to claw his way to the top. Still, she couldn't help the way she felt, and she wasn't about to hide from it or apologize.
When she felt it she was ready to tell him she was an older apprentice and he had been made a warrior. She had grown into a beautiful young she-cat, and her looks were not lost on the clan who began to grudgingly acknowledge her, appreciate her, and some of the younger toms were even attracted to her. She only had eyes for Otterthorn. Before she could tell him about her affections, she had to witness him being paired up with Owlfeather who was clearly enamored by the idea of being with him.
She walked away from the ceremony with anger bubbling like poison in her veins.
||Young Warrior||
Chubfrost tried, honestly she did. She saw how happy Otterthorn was with her and it made her blood boil, but she tried to tolerate it, if only because it meant that he was happy. Each time she saw them together, it was like thorns were piercing her heart, tearing it to shreds. It came to a head once she realized she would never be happy living her life like this. Chubfrost decided to do something about it. She ambushed Owlfeather in the night, and confronted her about her own feelings for Otterthorn.
Once the truth was out, Owlfeather threatened to tell their leader about her blasophemous feelings for Otterthorn. Love was against the Code of Bones. Love didn't exist in their world. When it tried to sprout a flame, it was quickly stomped out. Chubfrost realized the only way to get what she wanted was to do what BoneClan decreed necessary. She committed murder... and lied about it, to the amusement of her dark ancestors. The fight was bloody and it was not won without payment. Chubfrost's face was mauled horrifically, and she lost an eye as payment for what she had done.
She dragged Owlfeather's body into the marsh and left her near the water, where the scent of blood would attract the demon. He would take care of cleaning up her mess. She then stumbled, half blind and exhausted from the battle and from her loss of blood, to declare that Owlfeather was dead. The story she spun was flawless, although there were flaws in it that she knew only Otterthorn would pick up on. As expected, he did, and she could not keep the truth from him, even though she felt her chances at becoming his mate were dashed along with her beauty.
She was mistaken, however. Otterthorn forgave her when he fully understood what she had done and why, and the two began to see each other secretly. Chubfrost and Otterthorn had many happy moments together... and not so happy moments, especially when their personalities clashed. Since the leader felt like BoneClan had decreed that Otterthorn was not worthy to provide a future for the clan, he named Otterthorn as that months tribute for the no-moon ceremony. Around the same time, Chubfriost found she was to have kits and she told him about them the day he was to fight the biggest, hardest battle of his life. She knew it would add more pressure on him to win, what with the rest of the clan hoping he would bring them good luck and whatnot.
To her relief, he did win, but that leaf-bare was so harsh, that even when CreekClan's luck changed, Chubfrost miscarried the litter because her body was so starving that it reabsorbed the babies. Heartbroken by this news, Chubfrost watched as she and Otterthorn began to grow distant from each other as he was named the deputy, and was busy with his leadership duties. She was beginning to wonder if he had forgotten her when he became leader and did the one thing that shocked every cat in CreekClan, including herself.
He named her his deputy.
||Deputy||
The first thing Chubfrost did as deputy was to tighten up patrols and make sure the cats were rotated properly so that the workload was shared and everyone hunted enough so that each cat was fed. The second thing she did was to confront Otterbone. She wanted to know why he had chosen her and why they had grown distant if he was going to pull a stunt like this.
Chubfrost was grateful for his faith in her, but she realized not all of the clan agreed with his choice. Some of the cats outright questioned whether they were secretly together or not. They were beginning to whisper and call her names again... like they had to her mother before she'd been executed. She realized they were right though, She wasn't really qualified to be deputy and there were much better choices for deputy who were basically refusing to obey her orders.
With that confrontation came a scary revelation- Otterbone, despite he scary personality, despite how strong and hostile and full of energy he was, he needed her. His possessiveness of her mirrored her jealousy of him, and without their secret visits, he had become something of a loose cannon. She had her work cut out for her, it seemed. Not only did she have to take care of her duties as deputy, but she also had to restrengthen the bond she had once shared with Otterbone, and that meant making him understand that he was the number one most important cat in her life.
Without this reassurance, she knew he was liable to give away their secret by getting unreasonably angry if she spoke to any other tom for longer than was necessary. His fits were cute to her eyes, even if any other she-cat with half a brain would have run away. If anyone knew about their relationship, she doubted they would understand.
