Battle System
'Cause we're warriors.
INVASIONS
INTRODUCTION!
The battle system we use is a bit confusing, but if you read this whole thread, you'll soon get the handle of it, I promise! First to be explained is Invasions. There are two types of invasion systems, Organized, and Chaotic.
ORGANIZED
Organized invasions are mainly used for plot progression, before the invasions gets started there is a sign up for which cats you want to go along on the trip. The outcome of the battle is predetermined by the rest of the plot and what comes after the battle. There is a posting order and characters will be paired off as seen fit and then they will be sent off into battle to fight the cat they were given orders to.
CHAOTIC
Chaotic invasions are much more complex than the organized ones and there are more things that need to be taken into consideration and done before the invasion is begun.
Firstly, these invasions are not planned out by admins, though they can sometimes be brought up as random events.
-A challenger (generally a deputy or leader) from one clan who wants to challenge another clan for territory, food(money), or experience is required to have approval of the leaders of both clans and an admin beforehand. The challenger is required to make an introduction thread include the following things in his/her starter:
-The summary of attacks/defenses, buffs used, and injuries obtained must be included in the bottom of every post, not just the introduction. You may only have one character in the fight at a time; you're not allowed to fight for both sides, you must pick the side that you wish to fight for and join with them.
-Members have only 72 hours to reply to each round, including the introduction post, there are three rounds in total, and you may only reply to each round ONCE!
-At the end of each round an admin or staff member (acting as a judge) will tally up the injuries and knock-out any character who they deem unfit to go on based on how badly they are injured. This is determined by the injury system (level 3 injured or higher are knocked out).
-If at any time during any of the rounds all members of one side are knocked out, then the side with the members still standing at the end of the round is automatically declared the winner.
-You can be knocked out of a round because of an injury, you can ask to be knocked out if no longer interested, or you can just not post within the allotted amount of time (72 hours). Although, if you are knocked out, you won't receive any points. The prize will be split up between the characters still standing at the end (aside from territory- that goes to the clan you were fighting for of course).
-If there are more than four cats total participating in the invasion than the parties will be automatically split up into squadrons. Characters will be free to choose any attack formation they so desire (ie. squadron one has 2 against 3, you could either choose to do 2 against 1 and 1 against 1, or 3 against one and then 3 against 1 again).
JUDGING
The judging will be based off of how well you express emotion through your writing, the realism of the things you do (no cats doing a flying head butt across a 6 foot clearing- ahem vin diesel cat), and sensibility; is your cat doing the things that you would expect it to do given the situation? Is it thinking in a way that is in tandem with the character's personality? Or is it just running about willy nilly and attack in a rather pathetic display of 'bravery?'
Of course each judge probably has a different set of things they look for specifically (and don't think there will be playing favorites cause there won't), but the main things looked for are stated as follows:
-When being judged, if you believe that the verdict is unfair you may always message another admin or staff member to have them come in and see what they say. If it's deemed fair you're going to have to deal with it and not be a sore loser, but if you're correct congratulations you've fixed a mistake and there shouldn't be any hard feelings. Staff are human too and sometimes trip up, you must forgive them for this and not be a little sourpuss if you don't get your way instantly.

2. Portray emotion and make it interesting (your cat isn't just going to sit there and not give a damn)
3. Be sensible in the actions of your cat and things you do (being stupid and running around is going to get you killed without a doubt)
4. DO NOT write more than the word limit (duh)
5. Hits taken and how likely they are to be able to keep going
